Tottenham Hotspur youngster Nathan Oduwa has decided to pledge his international future to Nigeria ahead of England. Oduwa, 20, was born in Bloomsbury, England and has represented England at Under 17, Under 18 and Under 20 levels. He was in action for the Young Lions in October 2015 against Germany U20s. The midfielder, who is currently on loan to championship club Colchester United, is in frame to debut for Nigeria Men’s U-23 team next week. Dream Team VI coach Samson Siasia called up Oduwa for the upcoming friendly against the Samba Boys of Brazil on March 24 and the player has confirmed he will honour the invitation. He is expected to be in South America on Sunday. Due to the fact that all his caps for England’s youth teams were earned in international friendlies, similar to the case of Alex Iwobi, it is understood that he will not need FIFA’s clearance before making his debut for the Nigeria U23s. Oduwa has been at North London club Tottenham Hotspur since he was 11 years old but has been farmed out on loan to Luton Town, Rangers and Colchester United in recent times to gain first team experience.
