Dial-a-Doc-Direct is public health initiative that provides real time coordinated clinical health services through telecommunications technology; closely resembling a typical clinic visit, but this time over a distance and over the phone. It is Nigeria’s first teleclinical care centre where the doctors provide telesupport services to patients through clinical teleconsultation, telemonitoring, teletraining, telemanagement, telerehabilitation, telenursing, telehomecare etc.
To use Dial-a-Doc-Direct, you must first obtain the tele-clinical call card (prepaid rechargeable), scratch the silver panel at the back of the card to expose your personal identification number PIN. Then simply dial the access number where you will be asked to enter your PIN; entering a valid PIN dials you to a doctor directly. The doctor will help you with your health problems, concerns or questions, offering clarity and understanding with a focus on working with you to find solutions to your problems, resolutions to your concerns and answers to your questions.
