The peanut burger snack is very simple to make. Although not exactly ideal if you’re on a diet, but it makes for a delicious snack whilst watching a movie or could make for a fun project to do with the kids.

Ingredients

3 cups of raw groundnuts 1 cup of flour ¼ baking powder 2tablespoon  of sugar 1 egg 1 tin of evaporated milk Vanilla flavour Butter

Instructions

  • Sun the groundnut for a whole day before use, take care to pick out the bad ones before use
  • Break the egg into a small bowl and whisk until very fluffy
  • In another bowl, mix the sugar and milk and stir until the sugar is completely dissolved, you may need to add a little water.
  • Add your vanilla flavour (f you’re using the liquid flavour) to the well beaten egg and whisk a little to blend in the flavour
  • Sieve the flour into a dry bowl and add the baking powder
  • Pour in the egg contents into the milk and sugar bowl and stir for a while.
  • Put the groundnuts in a bowl
  • Pour a little of the egg mixture over the groundnuts. Shake bowl until mixture coats all the groundnuts.
  • Sprinkle some of the flour mixture over the groundnuts and shake.
  • Repeat steps 7 & 8  until groundnuts are completely coated with flour. If some stick together, use your fingers to separate them and keep going.
  • Heat the butter on medium heat and fry in batches until golden brown.
  • Drain the excess oil on a paper towel and let it cool before storing.

  • Must one use fried groundnut? Secondly, what happens if the round or ovary shape doesn’t form in all groundnut?
