- Measure your model. It can be either yourself or a relative/friend that you wish to sew an outfit for.
- With the measure of your model, create a pattern of what you want to make, simple dress block, skirt block, blouse block. (Don’t just imagine your creations, play around with them. Block pattern is the custom fitted patterns from which different styles pattern are developed.)
- Draw the pattern of the outfits on the paper. (For those that do not know how to draw a pattern: trace out a clothing outfit you had previously acquired using a tailor’s chalk or a pencil. Start by marking on paper, drawing a line and assuming that the line is a folded cloth. Include all of the measurements you have taken and add allowance or extra room on the pattern.)
- Place the pattern on your desired fabrics. (Note: Use a fabric that suits the style you hope to make).
- Use your pattern to cut your exact size on the cloth(Transfer all your markings you had measured on the pattern to the cloth)
- Join neatly with your sewing machine using half an inch.
- You are ready to rock your attire.
