The past three weeks have seen events turn from the good to the bad, and eventually to the ugly. What began as a peaceful protest to #EndSARS, gradually devolved into violence perpetrated by sponsored thugs who tried to hijack the peaceful protest, before the shocking event of Tuesday, 20th of October 2020 by the Nigerian army at the Lekki Toll Gate.

Following the gruesome event at the Lekki Toll Gate, tensions in the city of Lagos State have heightened to a very dramatic level. Thugs have seized the moment to wreak havoc on the lives and properties of the people of Lagos state. Government properties and institutions have been torn apart and brought down, privately owned establishments have been ransacked and goods worth millions have been carted away, cultural sites and symbols have been desecrated, and arsonists have found a fine time to ply their trade.
