Vision is the ability to think about or plan the future with imagination or wisdom while reality can be defined as the state of things as they actually exist, as opposed to an idealistic or notional idea of them. So have you ever wanted to run a multimillion-dollar company? Or live in your most favourite city? Or take a class in French? Or become a medical doctor? All these desires are visions. Vision includes desire, plans and dreams. However, vision becomes reality when action becomes a result. In this article, we are going to see how to transform vision into reality in three proven ways.
  1. Gain Clarity On What You Want

This might sound simple: gaining clarity. However, many people don’t achieve anything worthwhile because they don’t have clarity of vision. It is either what they want isn’t clear, or it’s fuzzy. According to my years in crafting and defining what a vision board should look like, I have identified four characteristics of an achievable vision.
  • You must desire it: An achievable vision is something you desire strongly. This is the foundation of all good and achievable visions. You must love your vision.
  • It must be clear: You must see it clearly. An achievable vision must not be fuzzy whether in speech or in writing. If someone walks up to you and ask you where you want to be in the next five years, you should be able to tell them between 8 to 10 seconds.
  • It must be achievable: Every good vision must be achievable. It might look big, difficult, but it must be achievable. There must be steps and pathways that lead to your destination.
  • It must have a specific end: Your vision must come with a specific end. For example, you can say by December 30, 2021, your business sales should have increased from 3 to 10. Specificity comes with a date, time, numbers and data generally.

  1. You Must Believe In Your Vision Passionately

If your vision doesn’t drive you crazy or keep you awake or hungry, change it. Your vision must give you a sense of purpose, it must be the reason why you look forward to the next day before going to bed every night. Your vision must be able to answer the reason why you are alive. Your vision must occupy a larger percentage of your mind, thoughts and conversations. It must have the capability to fuel and keep you running. It must make you deaf and blind to naysayers.
  1. Plan And Pursue Accordingly

Understand the requirements for bringing your vision from the realm of an abstract state to the realm of reality. What will it cost you to turn your vision into a reality? Does it require money, skills, location, people or information? Identify those things and their costs. For example, you want to own the biggest bakery in Africa in the next 10 years, then you need to know how to bake delicious loaves of bread. If you can’t, then you’ll have to sign up for both offline and online baking classes. Furthermore, you’ll have to know the price of setting up a factory, which includes the cost of equipment and ingredients, the right team to employ, and finally, the business campaign and timeline for meeting potential customers. You have to have a timetable that you follow daily as you bring your vision into reality. Set a date for market survey, a date for the establishment, a date for meeting with customers and so on and so forth. Featured Image Source: Jackson Property
