In one way or another we get stressed. We lose sleep, we get tired, and we develop dark circles or teabags.

You would agree with me that waking up in the morning to find your eyes surrounded in puffiness is not a good way to start the day. Not only does it ruin your face as a whole, it gives off an unattractive impression, and even if you try to cover it up with beauty products, the reality is revealed when you take them off. In other words, these products can only cover up your lack of sleep for a short while. . . not so good, is it?

What actually causes dark circles?

It is caused by fatigue, sleep deprivation, etc. We all get tired and sometimes want to overwork in order to get the workload off our hands a bit, but the importance of rest cannot be overemphasized when it comes to our health. Here are some key points you should note when trying to avoid the trouble of this unflattering look.

REST.

This is more important to your health than you can imagine. Busy at work? Studying for a test? Trying to meet up with a deadline? All these can be really tedious, but as much as you want to tidy up your work, do not forget that your health needs proper care too. There isn’t a particular rest limit, but your body knows when you’ve had enough rest and you can always tell too. So try as much as possible to always find time to rest. It goes a long way in making sure that, your body system conforms to the level of energy you need to carry on in a day.

DRINK LOTS  OF WATER

By drinking lots of water, I don’t mean quenching your thirst after a hectic walk in the sun. One thing you should know is that water solves a lot of minor health issues that comes up as a result of neglecting your body. Whether you feel dehydrated or not, always keep a bottle of water in handy, it helps the body system in relaxing.

SMILE

Many times we forget the essence of smiling and how it relaxes the muscles on the face. I know you’ve had a hectic day, but that shouldn’t take the place of your smile. Do you know that a smiling face is more interesting that a pretty face? Now talk about a pretty face that smiles! Hey, I don’t mean a fake smile now because believe it or not, your brain can detect whether a smile is genuine or not. So, truly smile and relax those muscles.

Dark circles can be avoidable if these points are duly noted and adhered to. There might be a need to go out of your level of comfort when working, causing you to topple the amount of energy your body is entitled to at a certain period, but do not come out wearing a black veil on a sunny day. Your eyes are as important as every member of your body, and thus, should be treated as such.

Remember, health is wealth.
