President Muhammadu Buhari has announced the federal government’s plans to provide free education to science, technology and education students in tertiary institutions. This was revealed during the presentation of the 2016 budget before the National Assembly, through the office of the Vice President. It was stated that a transparent conditional cash payment programme was being designed for this purpose along with various development partners. It is also expected that the initiative’s implementation would serve a significant milestone in the country’s progress.
