The Headies

The Headies is one of the most popular music awards shows in Nigeria. It launched in 2006 and is broadcast live every year on the HipTV music station. The show will feature performances from some of the biggest talents in the country. This year, the theme of the awards show is ‘The Power of a Dream’.

The Headies will hold at Eko Hotel & Suites on the 19th of October 2019.

Live in Lagos – Music Hall

‘Live in Lagos – Music Hall’ is a collaborative concert between Lebanese and Nigerian entertainers. The event will feature composer and pianist Guy Manoukian, the Afrobeats princess Tiwa Savage, Bovi, Dj Sose, and others. The concert is an effort to provide a combined musical experience for Lebanese and Nigerian communities.

The Live in Lagos concert will hold on the 5th of October 2019 at the Landmark Centre.

Ake Arts & Book Festival

Experience four rigorous days of learning and celebration at the Ake Arts & Book Festival. The theme of the festival this year is ‘Black Bodies, Grey Matter’. The festival’s aim is to provide a meaningful literary, cultural and arts experience with the help of creatives from all over Africa. This year, several accomplished authors and creatives will be at the Ake Festival. The list includes Abdourahman Waberi, Femi Taiwo, Femi Oyebode, Etinosa Yvonne, Emmanuella David-Ette, Dakore Egbuson-Akande and several others. The 2019 edition of the Ake Festival will hold in Lagos from the 24th to the 27th of October, at the Mike Adenuga Centre/Alliance Francais; 9 Osbourne Road, Ikoyi.

Here’s is a multi-day fashion event: a platform that exhibits the best of contemporary African and Nigerian fashion. Lagos Fashion Week features some of Nigeria’s most talented designers and models.

This year, the fashion event will hold from the 23rd to the 26th of October, 2019 at the Balmoral, Federal Palace Hotel in Victoria Island.

The Lagos Photo Festival is an unforgettable visual experience. The festival offers a unique opportunity to incredible photography from all over the world. It also functions as a platform to meet other art lovers. The festival has taken place in Lagos every year since 2010. This year the festival will host discussions and exhibitions on the subject of equality, unity, and cooperation under the theme ‘Passports’. A special photographic project called ‘Portraits of Humanity’ will be showing at the Lagos Photo Festival this year.

The Art Summit Nigeria is an educational forum that hosts discussions on the future of art in Nigeria. The theme this year is ‘The Future of Art: Is Collaboration’. Discussions at the summit will explore how collaboration between creatives can create opportunities in the art industry.

The summit will hold on the 30th and 31st of October 2019 at the Queens Park Events Centre in Lagos.
