Applications are currently open for the KPMG Private Enterprise Tech Innovator in Africa Competition. KPMG, one of the world’s leading professional service companies, is inviting businesses from across Africa to compete for a global award and gain continent-wide traction.

This competition is open to enterprises that leverage technology to varying degrees. Businesses that are tech-driven, tech-led or tech-enabled can apply. They may also be at any growth stage—whether they’re early-stage or looking to expand rapidly.

Participants in this contest will be competing with technology entrepreneurs from elsewhere in Africa as well as 15 other countries beyond the continent. Winners at this level will go on to the global finals which will be held in Lisbon, Portugal.

Benefits

Tech entrepreneurs who take part in KPMG Private Enterprise Tech Innovator in Africa Competition will gain from it in the following ways:

  • Winners will get a feature in KPMG’s “Winners Report” and will have local media profile them.
  • Winners will also advance to the Global Tech Innovator final, which will take place at the Web Summit 2022 in Lisbon, Portugal.

Eligibility

Persons who want to enter this competition must meet the following conditions:

  • Founders should be at least 18 years old and residents in Africa.
  • Their enterprise must be less than 5 years old and should be registered and operational in Africa.

  • They must operate a sustainable business model with high growth potential.
  • Should be able to demonstrate traction for their product or service.
  • They should not be employees or contractors of KPMG.

A panel of judges will evaluate pitches based on their market potential, disruption and innovation, customer adoption, and the enterprise’s long term potential. They will also consider pitch quality and the traction that the enterprise has garnered through its marketing activity.

This competition will remain open to entries until May 31, 2022.
