If you’re new to Lagos or have been a resident but you’re looking for more ‘happening’ spots to chill out then there is a website that helps you navigate through this process. Eat Drink Lagos was launched by Nosa Oyegun and Folayemi Agusto in 2014. The pair set it up to serve as a compass to find the eating and drinking spots in Lagos. In order to further push their agenda, they have also established a festival known as the Eat Drink Festival where chefs, restaurant, and street vendors can sell their edible commodities to thousands of consumers.

From Having Discussions About Random Stuff To Food Blog

Eat Drink Lagos was founded by Nosa and Folayemi (Folly as she likes to be called), two food-loving millennials who were tired of visiting unpleasant restaurants and decided to help other foodies like themselves escape this dilemma. Nosa, who had always wanted a food blog, first pitched the idea for the website to Folly, who was not new to the business of blogging and had owned a series of blogs including a food blog before then. But this was something different and she bought the idea. Together they founded the website and began their scout for premier restaurants that would leave nothing to be desired. They credit the inspiration for Eat Drink Lagos to Eater and Bitches Who Brunch who, according to the duo, have the best Snapchat food account.

Say Goodbye To The Days Of Terrible Restaurants

Thanks to Eat Drink Lagos, the average Lagosian does not have to settle for less when it comes to choosing restaurants but now has an organized directory of hot Lagos spots at their disposal. The content on the blog is really easy to digest because both Nosa and Folly sometimes pass their message through a uniquely witty and fun conversational style. This format allows all visitors to read through the conversational blog and get the information they want from it. Eat Drink Lagos contains a list of every spot the founders have visited and their experiences with them. The website also has a rating system in which all restaurants listed are grouped into three categories:
  • We Liked It
  • It’s Meh
  • We Hated It
The “We Liked It” category are all restaurants which Eat Drink Lagos regards as high status in food and services when compared to other restaurants. Hierarchically, “It’s Meh” falls under “the food was palatable but was not enjoyable to warrant a second visit” category. And as the name implies, the “We hated it” category has all the lists of all restaurants where “the food was below average and the service leaves a lot to be desired”. To add to its list of services, Eat Drink Lagos also has a bot called the Eat.Drink.Bot. This message bot serves as a compass for Lagosians to find the locations of their ideal restaurants. With all these exceptional features put in place, no “Lagosian Foodie in Distress” can go wrong with Eat Drink Lagos. The brand plans to spread its tentacles to other states outside Lagos in the nearest future.

A Festival To Draw All Foodies Together

Every year, Eat Drink Lagos organizes a festival known as the Eat Drink Festival where in a single day, thousands of food-loving individuals converge to eat and drink from an extensive selection served up by some of the best chefs, restaurants, and street food vendors in Lagos. This festival, which has recorded an attendance of over 8000 people, also gives room for chefs, restaurants and street food vendors from all works of life to sell their edible commodities to consumers. If you want to benefit from all the services Eat Drink Lagos has to offer, find them on Instagram and Twitter.
