  The Click-on Kaduna Data Science Fellowship Programme 2025 is accepting applications from emerging data science professionals. As part of Kaduna State’s comprehensive Data Revolution Plan, this program seeks to enhance coordination in data collection and utilisation for informed decision-making processes.

Operated by the Kaduna State Bureau of Statistics (KDBS), the Click-On Kaduna Data Science Fellowship represents a digital skills development initiative designed to cultivate world-class data management specialists. The program equips young professionals with data science competencies and contemporary analytical tools to enhance public policy formulation and decision-making processes throughout Kaduna State. This fellowship operates under the Kaduna State Data Lab Project, a collaborative effort between the Kaduna State Government, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and the Natview Foundation for Technology Innovation.

Program Structure

The fellowship spans six months, during which participants will collaborate directly with the Amina J. Mohammed SDGs Data Lab housed within the Kaduna State Bureau of Statistics. Fellows will partner with various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), with particular emphasis on the State Ministry of Health and related organisations, to advance data coordination initiatives that generate positive societal impact.

Qualification Criteria

  • Age Requirements: Candidates must be between 18-35 years old, with exceptions considered for outstanding applicants.
  • Residency: All applicants must be current residents of Kaduna State.
  • Educational Background: Graduates from tertiary institutions with degrees in STEM disciplines are preferred, including Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, Physical Sciences, and Health-related fields. Final-year undergraduate students in these STEM areas completing 6-month to 1-year internships are also welcome to apply.
  • Required Skills: Successful candidates should possess:
  1. Fundamental computer literacy.
  2. Basic proficiency in data handling and Microsoft Excel.
  3. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  4. Effective written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Diversity Commitment: The selection process prioritises 50% gender balance and equitable distribution.
