Well, it’s officially less than 50 days to Connect Nigeria’s Business Fair.  Dear exhibitor, is your follow up plan ready?

It is one thing to expect something and it is another to prepare for what you’re expecting. The Connect Nigeria Business Fair is one that will involve thousands of entrepreneurs, business owners and professionals from various spheres, within and outside Nigeria, with a growing record of over 6,000 attendees and exhibitors. Surely, you can’t be thinking of standing out amidst so large a group of people without a definite plan, especially if it’s your first time. So this is where the big question comes in; how do you go about this?

Well in case you are new to this, a follow up plan is an action which is taken in order to increase the effectiveness of a previous action. In the world of entrepreneurship, it plays a vital role.

For instance, if you have done an excellent job of exhibition at the business fair, a poor follow up plan can ruin all your chances of getting something tangible out of it. It is a sad truth that most entrepreneurs are skilled at advertising, whereas only a few are aware of the importance of having a follow-up plan. In case you haven’t thought about this, here are a few tips which might help.

Learn How to Interact

Most times, what we hear draws us towards the purchase of a particular product. How satisfying is your speech? Can it ring a bell in the minds of your prospective customers? Equally important as trying to look your best, ensure that you also talk your best. In turn, this will draw the attention of whoever you are speaking to. Also, since you will not have all the time in the world to do the talking, ensure to make it brief and catchy.

Make and Keep Contact

Don’t forget that the event will be holding for two days, after which you might not have the chance to meet all of the people you have met. So, what happens next? As an entrepreneur, the success of an exhibition depends largely on immediate follow-up leads on people. Anyone is a potential customer, but this can only work when you go out of your way to keep making contact with them. You can do this by getting their emails, phone numbers, and/or social media handles to ensure that they don’t just slip out of your grasp. This goes a long way to prove a certain level of commitment which can be rewarded in the long run.

Include Special Offers

One of the reasons that can draw a customer back to a product is the special offer attached to it. Everyone wants value for their money and it would not be a crime to have an extra deal on it. So, try to include catchy offers. Deals like this create a double advantage by attracting and keeping customers and boosting your sales as a result.

Be Nice

Before you open your mouth to speak, your attitude can send a two-page essay stating why a person should wait and listen, or walk away. So, in as much as you’re trying to create a landmark for your business, also ensure that you are nice enough to make a lasting impression. Remember you’ll be meeting a whole lot of experienced people who have created an impact in the business world. So try to work on this aspect.

Connect Nigeria Business Fair would take place on the 26th and 27th of April 2019 at Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos. Take some time to devise follow-up plans for your business as thousands of people will be available, making it worthwhile and giving you the chance to leverage on this platform.
