The goal of the partnership is to educate 50,000 young people in technology, and grant scholarships to 1,000 of them to get educated in tech. The program will target young Africans between the ages of 18-35 from 19 African countries and provide them with a platform to learn tech-related skills within the duration of 12 months. It will be a completely remote program, as selected participants will join virtual workshops, coaching and mentoring classes.

The project model is to have participants earn the Binance Charity Scholarship to be able to take the Utiva training on technology courses of their choice. Speaking on the impact of this project, Helen Hai, Head of Binance Charity said:
“We believe the benefits and vast opportunities of Web3 must be accessible to all. Advancing tech education and professional training are critical to making this happen. We’re proud to be partnering with Utiva, to engage the youth across Africa as we support the continent’s next generation of industry shapers.”

CEO of Utiva, Eyitayo Ogunmola, also noted that the program is timely and will yield positive results. “Africans are talented and hardworking but most times, the constraints of resources can be a major limiting factor when pursuing a laudable aspiration like moving into technology. We are super excited that Binance Charity understands the African pain point and has partnered with us at Utiva to help thousands of Africans and break the barrier to entry for many,” the CEO said.
