The Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria Awards was held on Friday 15th September 2017 at the Eko Hotels, Lagos. This marked the 30th anniversary of the contest. There were 36 contestants, each representing a state. After the screenings which were held Port Harcourt, Enugu, Abuja and Lagos, the 36 beautiful ladies scaled the hurdles to contest as finalists for this year Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria pageant. The winner and first runner-up are to represent Nigeria in the Miss World and Miss Universe pageant respectively. The award show was hosted by Ik Osakioduwa and Victoria Pepple and it was filled with glamour and beauty. After all the events in the competition, Ihezue Ugochi Mitchel, Miss Kebbi, emerged the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria 2017. Miss Bayelsa, Miss Sokoto, Miss Plateau and Miss Oyo were the other top five finalists. Before the show held on Friday, winner of 2015 MBGN, Unoaku Anyadike had been the reigning queen for two years as the pageant organised by Silverbird Entertainment did not hold in 2016. There were other awards won by contestants. The Most Photogenic award given to Miss Anambra, Miss Yobe won the Amity award and Best Traditional Costume went to Miss Sokoto while the Best Evening Wear award went to Miss Bayelsa, Model of the Year was Miss Kebbi.
