West African international art fair ART X Lagos, which made its debut in 2016 has announced this year’s event. The forum is focused on expanding Nigeria’s connection to contemporary art across and beyond Africa and aims to set Lagos as a centerpiece for culture on the continent.

The business of art in Nigeria is taking on a whole new meaning. Thanks to the ingenuity of its founder and director Tokini Peterside, and sponsors, the ART X Lagos team is not only placing Nigerian art at the forefront of Africa but brings home contemporary art from renowned artists throughout the continent in a rewarding experience designed to engage artists, curators, and collectors.

Last year, works from over 65 artists from 10 African countries were exhibited at the ART X Lagos, with about 5000 guests in attendance. ART X Lagos 2017 promises to bring to light a broader, dynamic program of exhibitions, talks and interactive projects, with works from over 60 artists and more than 10 exhibiting galleries from across Africa and the UK.

The art fair is scheduled to take place from the 3rd to 5th of November at the Civic Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos. Admission is open to the public via online registration. For registration and more details, visit artxlagos.com.
