Venture Capital for Africa (VC4A) is seeking to equip a selected group of experienced business people with the knowledge and skills they need to be mentors to Nigeria’s startup founders. Anyone interested in this can apply to join the VC4A Mentor-Driven Capital Program, which is designed to enable them to become high-powered mentors.

The VC4A Mentor-Driven Capital Program will provide its participants with training, expert guidance, and practical support, and build their capacities in corporate partnerships, angel investing, and more. They will learn how to engage founders and prepare to make an impact in Nigeria’s rapidly evolving startup ecosystem.

Benefits

Persons selected to take part in this program will benefit from it in the following ways:

  1. Attend the Mentor-Driven Capital Bootcamp, where they will learn how to mentor promising startups and think and act like an Angel Investor, among other topics.
  2. Get access to mentorship guides, online training materials, and experts in investment readiness.
  3. Participate in group mentor reflections.
  4. Have a profile on the VC4A website, which presents them with sourcing and networking opportunities.
  5. Become a member of the VC4A Mentorship Marketplace, which gives them a chance to mentor startup founders.
  6. Get access to the Africa Early Stage Investor Summit 2022.

Eligibility

This program is open to potential participants who meet these criteria:

  1. They must be based in Nigeria, or have strong ties with the country and are interested in its startup ecosystem and business environment;
  2. Should be a senior business professional with several years of experience, preferably with a financial, corporate, or entrepreneurial background;
  3. Can devote at least four hours a month to mentoring startups;
  4. Be active as an angel investor and looking to improve mentorship skills, or;
  5. Is active as a mentor and wants to become an angel investor.

Note: No more than 20 potential mentors will be selected to take part in this program.

The deadline for applications is March 23, 2022.
