Annually, the initiative offers 100 emerging artists the opportunity to amplify their practice and interests with the major aim of “sparking a new wave of change-makers.”
The benefits of the program:
- Selected fellows will receive a €5,000 (about $5,260) grant each to invest in their artistic ventures independently.
- The program allows recipients to determine how best to use the support gained.
- It is an opportunity for artists to explore new perspectives, experiment, and focus on their work without any financial pressure.
To be considered eligible for the program:
- The applicant must be in the early or exploratory level of their career, within the first 1 to 5 years of their professional career (excluding study years).
- The applicant must have created an innovative practice that addresses pressing social/political issues in their local context.
- The applicant should have received little to no institutional recognition or support in their practice.
- The applicant must be a citizen of an eligible country (Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Middle East, Eastern Europe, and the Pacific), living and working in the country.
