Annually, the initiative offers 100 emerging artists the opportunity to amplify their practice and interests with the major aim of “sparking a new wave of change-makers.”

The benefits of the program:

  • Selected fellows will receive a €5,000 (about $5,260) grant each to invest in their artistic ventures independently.
  • The program allows recipients to determine how best to use the support gained.
  • It is an opportunity for artists to explore new perspectives, experiment, and focus on their work without any financial pressure.

To be considered eligible for the program:

  • The applicant must be in the early or exploratory level of their career, within the first 1 to 5 years of their professional career (excluding study years).
  • The applicant must have created an innovative practice that addresses pressing social/political issues in their local context.
  • The applicant should have received little to no institutional recognition or support in their practice.
  • The applicant must be a citizen of an eligible country (Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Middle East, Eastern Europe, and the Pacific), living and working in the country.
