Applications are currently open for the Carrington Youth Fellowship Program. If you’re a young Nigerian professional at the entry or mid-level stage of your career and you’re looking for an opportunity to build your capacity and skills, you may consider seeking a place in this program.

The organizers of this program have designed it to enable fellows to build their communication, program management and leadership skills. It will also give them access to mentorship, and help them expand their network of valuable contacts.
The Carrington Youth Fellowship specifically targets persons who are proven leaders in their community and are committed to public or community service. The ideal candidate for the fellowship will also be able to work in diverse groups and collaborate with other persons regardless of differences in background, opinions, or personality.
Benefits
Persons who become Carrington Youth Fellows will benefit in the following ways:
- Take part in a professional development program that will last for one year.

- Receive mentorship from experienced Nigerians and Americans.
- Join the US Consulate General network in Nigeria.
- Build a valuable network through new skills, ideas, and connections.
Eligibility
Candidates should meet these criteria:
- Must be Nigerians who live in Lagos, Ogun, or Oyo states.
- Should be aged between 21 and 35 at the time the application closes.

- Must have an excellent command of the English language (must read, write and speak English proficiently).
- Should be available to take part in the year-long program in Lagos.
Note: Applications from alumni of the Carrington Fellowship Program will not be considered
Applications remain open until July 30, 2022. Finalists will be announced on August 15.
