The organizers of the Power of Local Challenge seek initiatives that create and sustain collaborative networks for small businesses, and connect these businesses with valuable partners and stakeholders; offer capacity building and access to support structures; and pathways to capital and financial literacy.

Benefits

Winners of the Power of Local Challenge will receive these benefits:
  • Receive $15,000 each
  • A global grand prize of $60,000 will be awarded to the overall winner
  • Get feedback from Ashoka and its panel of judges

Eligibility

This program is open to organizations that meet these criteria:
  • Applications must be written and submitted in English
  • Each challenge entrant must submit one application only
  • Applicant must be at least 18 years old by the application deadline
  • If the solution hasn’t been implemented at scale, the applicant should have a business plan and Minimum Viable Solution (pilot, prototype, etc.)
  • The solution must be rooted in and relevant to the community that the applicant serves
