The Allianz Climate Risk Research award welcomes applications from PhD students and postdoctoral researchers conducting work in:
- Risk assessment and reduction of climate change-intensified extreme weather events.
- Building resilience through innovative technological approaches.
Eligibility Criteria
- Current PhD or postdoctoral students, plus recent PhD graduates (degree completion must be within two years of application date).
- Research must align with the award’s designated focus areas.

Award Benefits
- The top three finalists from the 10 shortlisted candidates receive an invitation to Munich, Germany, for the award presentation event.
- The grand prize winner receives EUR 7,000.
- The two remaining finalists each receive EUR 3,000.
Application Process:
Your primary submission should include a concise, accessible essay (maximum 800 words) explaining your research concept and key discoveries. Reference examples are available in the 2024 Compendium.
