The 3MTT Africa Deep Tech Challenge (ADTC) 2025 represents a collaborative effort between Future Africa, Ilorin Tech Hub, CcHub, and IHS. This pan-African innovation competition centers on the theme of Resource-Constrained Computing, aiming to identify and support emerging innovators who can tackle complex challenges using limited technological resources.
Read more about Opportunities
The challenge seeks solutions that demonstrate how constraints can drive creativity, particularly in scenarios involving AI implementation on edge devices, offline-first system architectures, decentralized computing, and energy-efficient technology development. Resource-constrained computing involves optimizing computational processes when faced with limitations in power supply, memory capacity, and processing power, typically encountered in communication devices, sensor networks, and embedded systems. This competition values both technical innovation and storytelling ability. Participants must not only develop functional solutions but also articulate how their approach addresses Africa’s distinctive infrastructural challenges. Solutions can span multiple sectors, including agriculture, financial technology, education, and healthcare, provided they excel within real-world resource limitations.

Application Requirements

Development Guidelines

Participants must create a functional prototype addressing real-world problems through resource-constrained computing approaches. Solutions may incorporate low-power designs, offline functionality, compact AI models, efficient edge computing, or other intelligent adaptations to limited computing environments. The challenge welcomes applications across diverse sectors: healthcare, education, smart city development, fintech, climate solutions, entertainment, agriculture, gaming, and beyond.
