AWIEF operates as a leading pan-African organisation dedicated to women’s economic empowerment, working to bridge gender disparities through the advancement of female entrepreneurship and business leadership throughout Africa. These awards serve to acknowledge and celebrate remarkable women entrepreneurs and business founders whose achievements contribute significantly to Africa’s inclusive economic development and sustainability goals. Candidates should be well-established female entrepreneurs who have shown remarkable vision, leadership capabilities, innovative thinking, and proven business excellence in their respective fields and industries. The 2025 AWIEF Awards recipients will be revealed and honoured during an exclusive awards ceremony and gala dinner scheduled for October 31, 2025. This celebration will serve as the closing event of the AWIEF 2025 Conference, which runs from October 30-31, 2025, at Cape Town’s International Convention Centre (CTICC) in South Africa.

Nominations are currently being accepted across eight distinct categories:
  1. Young Entrepreneur Award
  2. Tech Entrepreneur Award
  3. Agri Entrepreneur Award
  4. Creative Industry Award
  5. Empowerment Award
  6. Energy Entrepreneur Award
  7. Social Entrepreneur Award
  8. Lifetime Achievement Award
These recognitions highlight African women who are challenging conventional boundaries, establishing thriving enterprises, and creating positive community transformation through innovative, sustainable, and meaningful initiatives.

Nomination Requirements

Candidates must be women entrepreneurs, founders, or business leaders based in Africa who have contributed substantially to economic advancement and development. Submission Deadline: July 17, 2025, at 11:59 PM CAT. Click HERE to apply.
