Following the postponement of the first-leg which was supposed to hold in Tunisia a week ago due to COVID-19 regulations, the eight-time Nigerian champions welcomed the North Africans to Aba on Sunday. Sadiq Abubakar put the Elephants ahead in the 21st minute after heading in a cross from Yakubu Bilal. Victor Mbaoma made it 2-0 for the home side in the 34th minute to put them in an advantaged position ahead of the second-leg. Stanley Eguma’s Rivers United crashed out of the continental competition on away goals rule after suffering a 1-0 defeat to Al Masry of Egypt at the Borg El Arab Stadium on Sunday. Rivers beat the Egyptians 2-1 in the first-leg of the encounter at Aba, but the away goals rule system saw them fly back to Port Harcourt in a bitter fashion.

Nigerian national women’s U-20 team, the Super Falconets hammered Congo 4-0 in Brazaville on Sunday in the first-leg of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers for Africa. Goals from Mercy Idoko, Flourish Sebastine, Esther Onyenezide, and Deborah Ajibola, were all the away side needed to put themselves in a favourable position ahead of the second-leg at home. Super Eagles of Nigeria forward Emmanuel Dennis has been named the Player of the Month for November for Watford. Dennis who scored twice and assisted twice in the month also won the Goal of the Month award for the Claudio Ranieri side to continue an impressive English Premier League debut season.
