It’s a way of increasing your social and economic capital. In this article, we shall study how to build a personal brand that can help us upscale and promote ourselves in our various industries.
  1. Find And Project Your Passion

To build a personal brand, you must follow and project your passion in all you do. You must reflect your likes and interests in your daily conversations and engagements. Your name must be synonymous with your interests and likes. If you are passionate about public speaking, ensure you make a brand out of it by creating that aura of a public speaker. 1. Grow Your Social Presence

To build a profitable personal brand, building your social presence, both online and offline is very key. Maximise all social media platforms ranging from Twitter, to LinkedIn down to Facebook and Instagram. It’s recommended that you build pages and groups on Facebook and YouTube, where you dish out content occasionally, on what you do. Build a reputation for content delivery of solutions. Aside from your social media presence, your offline presence must be built through attending or organising free or paid summits, conferences, hackathons, competitions, etc., where you get to meet and connect with people.
  1. Make A Plan For Yourself

Building a reputable and lasting personal brand takes planning and organisation. Draw up a list of solutions you plan to offer on your social media outlets. Design the time to upload the contents on your page or channel. You could actually choose to upload contents once or twice a week, during a strategic hour. Use quality pictures and videos when developing content. Finally, seek out fellow experts in your niche.
  1. Tell A Story

The most effective way to build a personal brand is through storytelling, especially a compelling one. Tell stories that inspire and educate. It could be personal stories on your journey to entrepreneurship, your journey through it, your failures and triumphs. Let your story be personalised and real. People love people who are real. Finally, remain truthful.

A Final Word

Building a personal brand is highly profitable. With a good personal brand, you become very visible within and outside your industry or niche. People tend to easily identify you and what you do and even trust you with their time and money. However, building a reputable personal brand is a deliberate effort that requires self-polishing and etiquette. Featured Image Source: Neil Patel
