In fact, thinking faster can spur up quick response to life-threatening issues. Interestingly, many people believe that thinking faster requires some inborn ingenuity or some genius to do it. However, studies have shown over the past decades that thinking faster than you’re currently doing can be developed through simple habits. According to a Columbia University study, trusting and acting on your instincts prevents longer mulling over a decision, which might likely end up in wrong choices. One of the ways to think faster with the help of your instincts is to pen down a summary of your choices and note each pros and cons. There is every possibility to see the most favourable choice with the help of your instincts.

Studies done in the UK observed that going for a drive can help the brain think faster because a degree of concentration is required when driving the highway, especially when changing lanes. Driving a car is an activity that affects overall thinking because it’s done with a clear head.

Studies have shown that when you yawn, the brain is heated and it needs some cooling. Stifling your yawn can be very damaging to the brain. Yawning when the body stimulates it cools the brain, leading to better mental efficiency.

Chewing gum fosters cerebral blood flow which helps you to remember things much faster, according to studies. Chewing gum, although, have been discredited by some researchers due to its negative effect on human dentition, however, there are medically approved gums that are advisable for chewing.

Living a curious life is one of the effective techniques towards thinking faster. According to studies, curious people are solution-seeking individuals who’re thinking occasionally, asking questions frequently and searching constantly. With these activities, the brain is constantly engaged, which of course boosts the ability to think faster.

Cycling activates thinking speed. According to a study conducted by UC Davis, cycling vigorously for 8 to 20 minutes a day boosts neurotransmitters, allowing your brain to function at a faster and clearer rate.
