  Applications are now open for the MTN mPulse Spelling Bee Competition. MTN is inviting primary and secondary school students aged between 9 and 15 years to take part in the contest.

The MTN mPulse Spelling Bee Competition is Nigeria’s first digital spelling bee contest. This year, the top 20 students, their teachers, and the winner’s school will receive cash prizes of more than ₦7 million, as well as phones, laptops, and other valuable items. Practice tests have begun on the spelling bee portal and will continue until Sunday, September 12. The first round of the competition will commence by 3 PM on Monday, September 13, and will run until 11:59 PM on Sunday, October 3.

Benefits

The prizes for the top contestants are as follows:

1st Prize

  • Student: ₦2 million scholarship grant, 1 laptop, 1 smartphone, and mPulse Goody Bag
  • Teacher: ₦350,000 cash prize

2nd Prize

  • Student: ₦1 million scholarship grant, 1 smartphone, and mPulse Goody Bag
  • Teacher: ₦200,000 cash prize

  • Student: ₦750,000 scholarship grant and mPulse Goody Bag
  • Teacher: ₦100,000 cash prize

4th-10th Place

  • Student: ₦200,000 scholarship grant and mPulse Goody Bag

11th-20th Place

  • Student: ₦100,000 scholarship grant and mPulse Goody Bag

Eligibility

Applicants should meet the following conditions:
  • Be resident in Nigeria
  • Must be on the MTN mPulse tariff plan (they can dial *344*1# or text mPulse to 344 to move their phone number to the mPulse tariff plan)
  • Must have updated their profile on the mPulse website
  • Should link with their parents on the mPulse website
