  Following pleas by examination candidates for the 2020 SSCE External exams to be shifted in order to afford them adequate time to complete the registration process, the National Examinations Council (NECO) has announced a new date for the exercise. The exams, originally scheduled to start on February 1, 2021, and end on March 3, 2021, has now been rescheduled to commence on February 8 and end on March 10, 2021.

This information was made public in a press statement signed by NECO spokesperson, Azeez Sanni, on Tuesday, January 26, 2021.
‘Following requests by candidates to be given more time to complete their registration process for the 2020 SSCE (External), the National Examinations Council (NECO) has fixed new dates for the examination.’ NECO
Furthermore, NECO disclosed that special arrangements have been made for candidates who due to the #EndSARS protests in some states missed certain papers, to write them alongside the external candidates.

‘The council hereby informs those candidates, who missed some papers during the 2020 SSCE (Internal) due to the EndSARS protests in some states, to take note of these new dates and report for the examinations accordingly at their various examination centers to be designated.’ NECO
