Manchester United striker, Odion Ighalo, in a video post on his Twitter handle called out the Nigerian government for shooting at unarmed protesters. He would go on to describe the government as ‘’killers,’’ urging the United Kingdom, the United Nations, and world leaders to intervene in the matter.

Italian footballer, Mario Balotelli on his Instagram page called for “legality and humanity,’’ urging the world to help Nigerians.

Mikel Obi

Former Super Eagles of Nigeria captain, John Obi Mikel, noted that it was ‘’enough,’’ on Instagram.

The captain of the Super Falcons of Nigeria posted a picture of the Nigerian flag stained with blood and left emojis depicting heartbreak.
