Creases that appear on the earlobes may be a sign of coronary heart disease. This condition is also known as Frank’s sign and occurs as a result of tissue breakdown around the blood vessels on the ears. While creases can also appear on the earlobes due to your sleeping position, see a doctor if you notice other symptoms like chest pain or shortness of breath.

Tinnitus

Ringing (or hissing/roaring/whooshing/buzzing/etc.) in the ears, a condition called Tinnitus, often results from hearing an extremely loud noise. However, when these symptoms occur for more than 6 months, this is a sign of chronic Tinnitus. If you experience symptoms of Tinnitus, see your doctor find out the cause of the problem.

Itchy Ears

The common cause of itchy ears is a fungal infection. Another possible cause is psoriasis, an autoimmune disease where itchy scaly patches appear on the skin. These patches can appear inside and outside of the ears and can even lead to temporary ear loss. While there’s no cure for psoriasis, you can take prescription medications to manage your symptoms.

Unusual Ear Shape

Any deformation on the ear can indicate a problem with the way the kidneys work. This is because a baby’s kidneys develop at the same time as the ears. If this condition is noticed at birth, a doctor may want to do an ultrasound of your baby’s kidneys. The above 5 signs are a reminder to always listen to your body and observe the signs it gives off.
