The Wikimedia Commons is receiving entries for its Wiki Loves Africa contest. It is inviting anyone from Africa to submit video, photographs or audio that tell a story that’s in line with the contest’s theme, for a chance to win cash prizes.
The Wiki Loves Africa contest is an annual competition in which participants contribute visually rich or culturally specific media that relates to a specific theme. Submitted media (video, photos, or audio) are examined by the contest’s organizers. Besides winning prizes, selected media are used on Wikipedia and other project websites of the Wikimedia Foundation.
The 2022 theme for the Wiki Loves Africa contest is Home and Habitat. In line with this theme, organizers of the contest are calling for entries that provide visual representations of human and animal home habitats. They should be about lodgings, rooms, quarters, locations, nests, burrows, dens and caves, where people and animals rest, relax, recover, and reconnect with family and community.
